provided to students through university partnerships or approved accommodation providers. Consistent, high-quality cleaning practices support safe, hygienic living environments and a positive student experience.<\/p><ol start=\"2\"><li><strong> Alcance<\/strong><\/li><\/ol><p>This policy applies to: university-managed residential accommodation, purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA), partner-operated student residences, halls and flats, and short-stay or temporary accommodation used by Language in Action.<\/p><p>All accommodation partners must confirm that they are able to meet the standards stated in this policy before students are placed.<\/p><ol start=\"3\"><li><strong> General Cleaning Services Requirements<\/strong><\/li><\/ol><p>Accommodation providers must ensure:<\/p><ul><li>All shared areas (corridors, common rooms, bathrooms, kitchens, laundry rooms, entrances) are cleaned regularly as part of a planned cleaning schedule.<\/li><li>Cleaning schedules are clearly communicated (e.g., via noticeboards or internal systems).<\/li><li>Waste is removed frequently and disposed of appropriately.<\/li><li>Adequate ventilation and reasonable temperature control are maintained.<\/li><\/ul><p>Recommended minimum cleaning frequency for shared areas (providers may exceed these frequencies depending on building size and occupancy levels):<\/p><table width=\"650\"><tbody><tr><td width=\"213\"><p><strong>Area<\/strong><\/p><\/td><td width=\"437\"><p><strong>Minimum Standard<\/strong><\/p><\/td><\/tr><tr><td width=\"213\"><p>Communal bathrooms<\/p><\/td><td width=\"437\"><p>Cleaned at least once per week, or more frequently in large residences, with spot cleaning if required<\/p><\/td><\/tr><tr><td width=\"213\"><p>Communal kitchens<\/p><\/td><td width=\"437\"><p>Cleaned at least once per week, with spot cleaning if required<\/p><\/td><\/tr><tr><td width=\"213\"><p>Communal corridors &amp; lobbies<\/p><\/td><td width=\"437\"><p>Cleaned weekly, with spot cleaning if required<\/p><\/td><\/tr><tr><td width=\"213\"><p>Reception \/ shared lounges<\/p><\/td><td width=\"437\"><p>Cleaned weekly, with spot cleaning if required<\/p><\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><p>\u00a0<\/p><ol start=\"4\"><li><strong> Bedroom Standards<\/strong><\/li><\/ol><ul><li>Bedrooms must be thoroughly cleaned and inspected before a student arrives.<\/li><li>Rooms must be free of personal belongings from previous occupants.<\/li><li>Maintenance issues must be reported and resolved promptly.<\/li><\/ul><p>Students are responsible for keeping their rooms in a reasonable condition during their stay, with support provided through access to cleaning equipment on request (e.g., vacuum cleaners) and clear expectations communicated at check-in.<\/p><ol start=\"5\"><li><strong> Linen and Towel Provision Standards<\/strong><\/li><\/ol><p><strong>5.1 Bed Linen<\/strong><\/p><p>Where bed linen is provided as part of the accommodation package:<\/p><ul><li>Bed linen must be changed at least once every seven (7) days.<\/li><li>Bed linen must be changed between every departure and new arrival, regardless of the length of the stay.<\/li><li>All linen must be clean, in good repair, and free from stains.<\/li><li>Linen includes: sheet(s), pillowcase(s), duvet cover or top sheet.<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>5.2 Towels<\/strong><\/p><p>Where towels are provided as part of the accommodation package:<\/p><ul><li>Towels must be replaced at least once every seven (7) days.<\/li><li>Towels should be replaced sooner if soiled or at the student\u2019s request.<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>5.3 Laundry Standards<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>Linen and towels must be laundered with suitable detergent and dried thoroughly before reuse.<\/li><li>Students must not be expected to use damp or visibly unclean linen.<\/li><\/ul><ol start=\"6\"><li><strong> Responsabilidades<\/strong><\/li><\/ol><table width=\"650\"><tbody><tr><td width=\"213\"><p><strong>Stakeholder<\/strong><\/p><\/td><td width=\"437\"><p><strong>Responsabilidades<\/strong><\/p><\/td><\/tr><tr><td width=\"213\"><p>Accommodation Provider \/ University Partner<\/p><\/td><td width=\"437\"><p>Deliver cleaning services as described; maintain cleaning schedules; ensure linen replacement timelines are met.<\/p><\/td><\/tr><tr><td width=\"213\"><p>La lengua en acci\u00f3n<\/p><\/td><td width=\"437\"><p>Share this policy with partners, ensure agreements are in place, monitor standards.<\/p><\/td><\/tr><tr><td width=\"213\"><p>Students (supported by group leaders)<\/p><\/td><td width=\"437\"><p>Maintain bedroom cleanliness; follow waste disposal guidelines; report issues promptly.<\/p><\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><p>\u00a0<\/p><ol start=\"7\"><li><strong> Monitoring and Compliance<\/strong><\/li><\/ol><p>Service standards may be reviewed through scheduled accommodation inspections, student feedback surveys, and reports received via welfare or support channels.
